Next Saturday, 22nd October, why not join us for a guided walk down the High Street from the railway crossing to the Quay? We will be meeting near Oxfam at 2.00 pm (weather permitting) and should get to the museum by about 3.00 to 3.15 for a coffee and catch up session.
It’s a chance to look at some of the buildings whose history has been revealed in the course of the High Street research, Tudor mansions, Georgian coaching inns, Victorian churches and 20th century shops. We hope that people on the walk will have their own stories to add.
At the museum we will have a short session to discuss the immediate aims of the project as it celebrates its anniversary. I hope you can come to the walk and / or the catch up session and contribute to the discussion.
