Poole’s Other Town Cellars?

PM9 bonesForty years ago, an excavation in the heart of the old town of Poole allowed archaeologists a glimpse of the medieval town, its domestic life and commerce. It also provided a mystery  by revealing the foundations of an ancient stone building, part of the port facilities around the year 1300. What was the building used for, why did it fall out of use and why were there so many animal bones and medieval pottery sherds on the site?  Historians have come up with at least some likely answers.
